Fun Sundae

On Sunday we went for a  fun family adventure to Portland where we took a ride on the Narrow Gauge Railroad. Addie LOVES trains and wants to be a "Train Doctor" when she grows up. Calla seemed to be very excited about the train as well.

Afterward we went to eat lunch at SeaDog (to pass time during the 1.5 hour wait for Addie to get her hair cut at Snip-its (ie: Chuck E Cheese for Hair) The highlight for Calla was her somehow snatching a piece of lettuce from my salad and gnawing on it for awhile before I noticed what was going on.
After lunch we went back to the crazy hair place for the hair cut. I'm not sure what Addie loves most, the video she gets to watch while getting her hair cut, the purple bow that the stylist put in her hair, or the prize from the toy machine that she got when it was all finished. But put all together, it's a very clever enterprise (much like the free deli cookies at Hannafords grocery).

After a nap at home, we went out to get sundaes to celebrate the 110th (or something like that) anniversary of the invention of the sundae. Unfortunately Calla's at the age where she is old enough to notice that we're doing things that she is not (ie: eating sundaes), but is too young to actually do them herself. So, she was a little sad. But all in all a fabulous Sunday.
