Calla has a lot of words and she also has a lot of signs. But she rarely says the word and makes the sign simultaneously.  Some words are said and some words are signed: Mama (word), Addie (word), Dada (word), Milk (sign), Potty (sign), Apple (word), Hat (sign), Eat (sign), Ball (word), etc, etc,

Then there is Water. She is able to say the word. I've heard her. It sounds like "wawa" But maybe she never says it because it sounds so much like what she calls herself: "Awwa". She also is capable of making the sign. But she never does this either.

When she wants water, she says:
"Ssszzzssup" Yup. Like a long slurping suck of water. And she does this very consistently.

I will miss that "word" tremendously when she phases it out.
Or as Addie said: "Maybe she'll still be saying it when she's my age!"
