X-Country Skiing

I got X-country skis for Solstice this year and have been absolutely loving using them in the woods behind our house. Unfortunately it has been so cold recently that I haven't been able to ski as much as I would like, but I did get to go about 4 or 5 times. It has been pretty thrilling bushwhacking my way from our backdoor to the Atlantic Way trail (that leads to the beach) just using my phone's GPS. On my first trip, I tried to ski to the trail only using my great sense of direction, but when I checked with the GPS realized that I had been going in absolutely the wrong direction. It dawned on me then how quickly people can get lost in areas that they think they know well.
